About CREW Network
Commercial Real Estate Women Network (“CREW Network”) is a not-for-profit corporation headquartered in Lawrence, Kansas, organized under Washington DC law, and recognized as a 501(c)(6) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. CREW Network Foundation (“Foundation”) is a related 501(c)(3) charitable organization administered by the staff and leadership of CREW Network. CREW Network Foundation Canada was established in 2014 and recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency as a charitable organization.
CREW Network was incorporated in 1989. The Foundation was started in 1998 to support CREW Network through charitable activities funding research, scholarships, and other programs that benefit women and girls. CREW Network Foundation also works with CREW Network chapters to assist them in their charitable activities.
CREW Network is an international federation of affiliated member organizations (chapters) of commercial real estate professionals. There are currently approximately 90 chapters and affiliates in North America and Europe, with a total of more than 15,000 individual members in over 15 countries. The chapters are separately incorporated and governed by independent Boards of directors.
The majority of individuals join CREW Network through a local chapter. Chapters set their own requirements for membership (closely aligned with CREW Network’s Bylaws) and dues. CREW Network’s membership represents 35+ disciplines of commercial real estate and more than 96% are women. All persons are welcome in CREW.
CREW Network’s purpose is accelerating success for all women in the global commercial real estate industry. CREW Network’s mission is to advance all women in commercial real estate through business networking, industry research, leadership development, and career outreach initiatives. Among other things, CREW Network provides a robust network of business connections for its members, best-in-class leadership programming designed for women in commercial real estate (“CRE”), and contracted administrative services for its chapters.
CREW Network is guided by four core values:
• Inclusivity: A diverse, multi-disciplinary, and welcoming global community
• Trust: A credible partner, delivering services with integrity and excellence
• Collaboration: Committed to connections through networking
• Influence: Respected and recognized for thought leadership
CREW Network’s strategic plan will guide our organization’s work through 2027, focusing on three strategic goals:
• CREW is a dynamic organization removing barriers and advancing all women throughout its diverse and inclusive global network.
• Women in CRE are global leaders and influencers as evidenced by a 10% improvement in the compensation gap and women in leadership roles.
• CREW Network has expanded its global membership and provides unparalleled business connections, professional development, and leadership opportunities in commercial real estate.
CREW Network hosts an annual convention as well as three leadership summits throughout each year, as well as targeted leadership development programs, virtual learning offerings, business networking events and a President/President-Elect Training for chapter leadership. CREW Network will launch a new robust, career-spanning leadership development program in 2026. This new initiative will provide a comprehensive approach to leadership development designed according to sound adult learning principles with both in-person and virtual learning. CREW has increased its membership by 35% over the last 8 years and seeks to continue its growth of members, chapters and affiliates across North America and globally.
CREW Network services all members and chapters from its headquarters office in Lawrence, Kansas, where it has been located since 1999. There are currently 24 staff based out of the Lawrence office, and an additional eight staff working remotely (seven in the Washington, D.C. metro market). Average tenure for the current staff is eight years. The location of the candidate is flexible, but the candidate should be willing to travel to Lawrence, Kansas and the Washington, D.C. metro area periodically as needed by CREW Network throughout North America and Europe. The candidate will also need to travel to CREW Network events (including but not limited to the annual convention, leadership summits, Board meetings and chapter visits) and selected commercial real estate industry events.
Additional information about CREW Network, CREW Network Foundation, and the related Chapters may be obtained by visiting our website: www.crewnetwork.org.
