Purpose of the Position

The Company is an early-stage cybersecurity startup seeking a proven executive to lead its end-to-end technology organization as Chief Technology Officer (“CTO”). The CTO will build and lead a globally distributed technology team and
work alongside world class peers in the Executive Leadership Team. Developing the product and
technology vision and roadmap and aligning it with the Company’s progressive and innovative
business strategy, the CTO will be an inspiring leader who is responsible for developing a combination
of product, platform, and technology services that will drive revenue and value creation for the global
business. The CTO will have full oversight over product, engineering, enterprise architecture,
corporate systems, and technology infrastructure. Additionally, s/he will ultimately be in charge of
Research and Development (R&D) and should be well-versed in AI/ML, fostering a highly collaborative
relationship with the R&D leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Key organizational responsibilities for the Chief Technology Officer will include:
▪ Implement overall engineering strategy, technology, process, and human capital capable of
supporting scalable, functional, and reliable product offerings that increase the Company's
success.
▪ Define a strategic vision that enables the Company’s suite of products to create the greatest
impact and growth.
▪ Develop, maintain and execute against the technology roadmap and prioritize activities to align with
business requirements as set forth by the Executive Leadership Team.
▪ Build strong working relationships with other executive leaders who are key stakeholders. While
fostering collaboration, the R&D team will report directly to this person, ensuring alignment with
strategic goals.
▪ Execute a strategy to engineer the capabilities and services in and around the company’s AI
medium at the speed of design and creativity.
▪ Help enable a strong R&D culture that partners deeply with business opportunities to generate
extra-ordinary product and competitive market advantages.
▪ Manage and oversee the entire enterprise technology portfolio including corporate IT systems,
vendor relationships, system support and infrastructure.
▪ Establish effective decision-making and investment plans for major technology projects and
initiatives. Prioritize and allocate the necessary human, technological and financial resources
necessary to complete approved projects and to improve overall efficiencies in technology
delivery and operations.
▪ Monitor and maintain close strategic relationships with existing and future technology vendors,
ensuring partnerships are aligned with our strategic operational and financial objectives.
▪ Provide enterprise-wide technology leadership across all business units and shared services.
Work closely with other technical leaders to implement appropriate policies and procedures to
ensure system and regulatory compliance, IT security, and the effective utilization of technology
resources by employees.
▪ Maintain a strong grasp of industry trends, cutting-edge technology and both AI and cybersecurity
changes to ensure that the Company remains in a leading position with its competitors.
▪ Drive and develop an exceptional level of excellence in technical craft within the engineering
organization; recruit and retain top technical talent; define a world-class engineering culture of fun
and high energy where engineers can do the best work.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, but more importantly will be a strong
leader with the ability to articulate and drive a proactive engineering and product vision for the
organization. The Chief Technology Officer will have a proven ability to influence and lead
engagement and best practice implementation across various functions, with a particular focus on
R&D, product management, and operations. Experience in AI and ML from both
engineering and product perspectives is essential.

Prospective candidates will have demonstrated leadership in providing strategic guidance throughout
an organization and a track record of delivering quantifiable results. Importantly, the CTO will have
demonstrated the ability to quickly assess and correctly act upon current and future consumer and
industry trends. Experience in a B2B SaaS company is optimal, as is experience with advanced
technology, cybersecurity, FinTech and AI-driven products. Experience in international markets,
including launching new business operations, would be ideal.

Stylistically, the CTO must be entrepreneurial and results-driven, as well as be a collaborative leader
who is willing to roll up their sleeves in order to design and drive strategic initiatives. S/he must build
effective relationships through collaboration, influence, and domain expertise.

Experience and Professional Qualifications

Additional professional qualifications will include, but not be limited to, the following:
▪ 15+ years of relevant experience in an enterprise software or cybersecurity company with a
demonstrated ability to effectively lead a technology organization and operate strategically and
proactively at the intersection of business and technology.
▪ 10+ years in a leadership role to include a strong record of building teams through leadership,
direction, and coaching.
▪ Ability to develop a technology vision and strategies that can be operationalized, are commercially
sustainable and help to achieve competitive advantage.
▪ Working knowledge in architecture, design, software development, database management
systems, and systems in multi-platform environments.
▪ Extensive experience managing an engineering team in a B2B SaaS business and digital platforms
of relevant scale.
▪ Prior experience in start-up software or cybersecurity company required.
▪ Expert knowledge of current technology trends, best practices, and talent management.
▪ Strong analytical skills with the proven capability to use data to drive business decisions. Elevated
level of business and financial acumen.
▪ Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written, and strong executive presence and
presentation skills.
