Korn Ferry is partnering with our client on their search for a Tax Manager – Mexico Based.

Role Summary:
• Title: Tax Manager (Mexico)
• Reports to: Senior Manager, Regional Finance
• Location: Fully Remote (Mexico)
• Travel: Occasional travel to Houston and operational locations, typically once or twice annually
• Primary Focus: Lead all Mexico non-income tax activities, ensuring compliance with VAT, withholding tax, and personal income tax requirements while serving as the primary tax resource for Mexico operations and supporting the broader corporate tax function

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all Mexico personal income tax, withholding tax, and VAT compliance activities
• Review and approve monthly and annual tax filings, calculations, reconciliations, and related reporting
• Ensure timely filing and payment of all Mexican tax returns in accordance with statutory requirements
• Serve as the primary liaison with Mexico's tax authority (SAT), managing correspondence, inquiries, audits, and regulatory reviews
• Lead audit support activities, including documentation preparation, analysis, and issue resolution
• Review accounts payable transactions to identify withholding tax requirements and advise stakeholders on proper tax treatment
• Review and approve tax clauses within customer and vendor contracts while communicating tax risks to business partners
• Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Operations, Legal, Marketing, and other internal stakeholders on tax matters
• Maintain and manage the Mexico tax calendar to ensure compliance with all filing and payment deadlines
• Support quarterly U.S. GAAP tax provisions and monthly tax-related accrual processes
• Provide updates on legislative changes and emerging tax requirements impacting Mexico operations
• Identify tax planning opportunities and partner with Corporate Tax leadership on implementation
• Support expatriate tax compliance activities in partnership with Human Resources
• Drive special projects, entity rationalization initiatives, and other tax-related strategic efforts

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required
• MBA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience required
• Combination of public accounting and oilfield services industry experience strongly preferred
• Big Four public accounting background highly preferred
• Fluency in both English and Spanish required
• Strong understanding of Mexican tax regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, and personal income tax requirements
• Experience supporting audits, regulatory inquiries, and tax authority interactions
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
• Experience with OneStream, IFS, or similar enterprise systems preferred
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate independently while partnering effectively across multiple functions and geographic regions
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally as needed

Compensation & Benefits:
• Target Base Compensation: $150K–$170K
• Annual Bonus Opportunity: Approximately 12%
