  • B’nai B’rith advocates globally on issues of antisemitism, extremism, Holocaust remembrance, human rights violations, and international policy affecting Israel and the Jewish people.
  • The organization holds NGO status at the United Nations, with a permanent presence in New York, Geneva, and UNESCO in Paris.
  • B’nai B’rith provides expert testimony, drafts policy recommendations, and engages world leaders to combat antisemitism in governmental, diplomatic, and civic institutions.

Israel Advocacy & Global Diplomatic Engagement

Purpose of the Position

B’nai B’rith International seeks an accomplished, forward‑thinking, and mission‑driven executive to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As the oldest continuously operating Jewish service organization in the world, B’nai B’rith plays a vital global role in community service, human rights and Israel advocacy, senior housing and the defense of Jewish security and dignity.

The CEO will be responsible for shaping the organization’s strategic direction at a pivotal time when global Jewish life faces profound challenges and opportunities. This individual must bring a blend of visionary leadership, operational discipline, and a deep appreciation for the organization’s historic legacy and future potential.

The ideal candidate is an experienced executive who excels in coalition‑building, diplomatic engagement, major fundraising initiatives, program optimization and alignment, marketing and brand building and organizational leadership. This person will serve as B’nai B’rith’s principal representative to governments, partner organizations, donors, philanthropic institutions, and the media. The CEO must be equally comfortable working on the world stage and engaging directly with grassroots membership, volunteers, and community partners.

The next CEO will steward and partner with the Board to refine B’nai B’rith’s strategy and global portfolio, while ensuring financial strength, organizational cohesion, and strategic growth. In doing so, the organization is open to thoughtfully rebalancing its priorities—assessing where to deepen long‑standing commitments, where to modernize or adapt, and where emerging opportunities may require new focus to best position B’nai B’rith for its next chapter.

Vision and Executive Management

This leader will unify and energize staff and volunteers across B’nai B’rith’s global network, fostering collaboration among its advocacy, humanitarian aid, senior housing, community service, and international affairs portfolios. The executive will expand and strengthen the organization’s programs and impact, ensuring relevance, effectiveness, and reach across diverse communities.

The Chief Executive Officer will also be a strong organizational leader and will be responsible for broadening the organization’s philanthropic base—nurturing new donor pipelines, deepening engagement with long‑standing supporters, and expanding B’nai B’rith’s visibility among emerging leaders. The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial mindset and the strategic ability to elevate B’nai B’rith’s voice as a global advocate for the Jewish people and Israel, a defender of human rights. Nonprofit leadership with program optimization/development and marketing/branding experience.

  • Fifteen years of organizational leadership, progressive development or external affairs experience, including at least five years successfully leading and managing a team.
  • Significant experience in designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, securing major and principal gifts, from individual donors, foundations, and institutional partners.
  • Proven strategic leadership experience guiding the evolution of a global agenda, partnering with a Board on long‑term strategic planning, and strengthening programs and impact across multiple regions while elevating an organization’s public profile and influence.
  • Demonstrated executive management expertise leading complex, multi‑department organizations; ensuring operational excellence across finance, HR, communications, policy, development, and programming; and sustaining strong financial discipline, mission alignment, and long‑term organizational sustainability.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution is preferred; however, substantial professional experience aligned with B’nai B’rith International’s mission and responsibilities may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Compensation

The estimated base compensation will be $350,000 - $400,000. B’nai B’rith International offers a comprehensive benefits package.
