The University of Maryland Medical System is conducting a search for a VP, Rural Health Care Transformation and Executive Director, University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.  This individual, a key member of the senior leadership team and direct report to the UM Shore Regional Health CEO, will provide leadership of rural transformation projects to ensure optimal participation in local, regional and system services, programs and activities.  They will present and support the regional and System interests while advocating for local interests. Additionally, this individual will serve as the Executive Director responsible for day-to-day operations of UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown, a critical access hospital. This individual will coordinate multiple activities of the hospital and liaise closely with the UM Shore Regional Health leadership team to ensure continued growth and success with physicians, the community and local leadership.

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM Shore Regional Health) is a regional, nonprofit, medical delivery care network formed on July 1, 2013, through the consolidation of two University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) partner entities, the former Shore Health and the former Chester River Health. As a member of UMMS, UM Shore Regional Health is able to enhance its various clinical programs and facilities and facilitate physician recruitment, bringing world-class medical care to the residents of Maryland's Mid-Shore region. The network consists of two hospitals - University of Maryland Shore Medical Centers at Chestertown and Easton - as well as two freestanding emergency centers, urgent care services, medical pavilions and a broad array of inpatient and outpatient services location across the five-county region. UM Shore Regional Health is part of The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) - a $4.8 billion academic health system comprised of 12 hospitals, 5,200 affiliated physicians and more than 29,000 employees.

The ideal candidate will have progressive experience in healthcare leadership roles, with rural community health or critical access hospital leadership experience preferred. The individual must possess a Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration or a related field.
