OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The Vice President & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior management team working in partnership to effectively position the hospital for growth and sustainability in the marketplace. As a senior leader in the organization, the CFO will model and exemplify MLH’s mission, vision, and values by demonstrating integrity, transparency, and a commitment to excellence in all financial operations.
The Vice President & Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital. This position not only offers a chance to oversee the hospital's financial health, including budgeting, accounting, and long-term financial planning, but also collaborate with system leaders to ensure there is strategic alignment across the system as it relates to driving growth, financial management, and financial sustainability.
In this role, the CFO will have the opportunity to develop and implement forward-thinking financial strategies, ensuring operations run smoothly and patient care is optimized. This leader will analyze and interpret key financial data, providing insights that will guide the hospital's profitability and performance. The CFO’s expertise will help navigate the complexities of fiscal compliance, audits, and governmental reporting, ensuring all regulatory standards are met with excellence.

EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and professional qualifications required for the role:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant healthcare experience, including at least 7 years of management experience with financial oversight
- Proven experience in revenue enhancement and cost containment initiatives in a hospital environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration/management or related field coupled with master’s degree in business administration/management/healthcare administration or related field required.
- Experience with using Epic EMR and Workday ERP systems is highly desirable.
Skills and competencies required for the role:
- A strong background in and comprehensive knowledge of financial management and metrics is imperative. Must be well versed in Medicaid rules and regulations.
- Must be skilled at interpreting financial performance and adept at skillfully communicating ideas and strategies to the senior management team.
- Able to demonstrate a track record of success in strategic planning in a complex healthcare environment.
- Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of associates, management and board members including the ability to communicate complex technical material.
- Ability to work without close supervision or guidance and to exercise independent judgment.
- Knowledge of computerized general ledger and other accounting systems and ability to use PC-based analytical tools.
- Must demonstrate strong quantitative/problem-solving abilities including mathematical, statistical and computer skills.
