Korn Ferry is please to partner with Hartford HealthCare in their search to identify the Scientific Director of the Center for Research on Racial Trauma and Community Healing. We invite applications from qualified researchers for this inaugural role.
This is a senior research and administrative position under the research arm of the Institute of Living (IOL). The individual in this role will direct operations and be responsible for the IOL’s Center for Research on Racial Trauma and Community Healing. The role has administrative, educational, and research responsibilities and they will work closely with broader system-wide health equity and community engagement initiatives.
- Licensure as a regulated health professional.
- Experience with research leadership, operational leadership, scholarship, knowledge mobilization, and community engagement.
- Knowledge and skills related to health equity, justice, and racial trauma.
- Expertise related to minority stress/trauma research and therapeutics.
- Experience and skills with community based participatory approaches.
- Ability to work with junior scientists and learners.
- Professionalism: is a role model, has personal and professional boundaries, works collaboratively across the hierarchy and across disciplines, can keep confidential what should be private while knowing what and who to tell and when.
- Temperament: Inclusive leader who does not rush to judgement/to act, is curious/self-aware/open-minded, can set limits, is able to confront, is able to advocate, is not afraid of additional things to manage and can manage additional things, finds pleasure in the “people” parts of the role, has a sense of how systems work.
- Willing to travel.
- Knowledge of healthcare settings including ambulatory, mental health and acute care environment.
- Knowledge and skills in health professional education.
- Ability to lead by influence and motivate by coaching and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
