Korn Ferry is proud to partner with a premier global law firm in its search for a Restructuring Associate to join the firm’s distinguished Finance Department in New York. This is an opportunity to be a part of a Chambers-ranked restructuring team that represents a wide spectrum of stakeholders involved in complex financial distress situations, both domestically and internationally.
This lateral opportunity is ideal for a driven, collaborative associate seeking to grow within a market-leading practice and work alongside some of the most respected attorneys in the restructuring and special situations space.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be a 3rd or 4th year associate with substantive experience in commercial bankruptcy and financial restructuring matters. The team advises corporations, banks, creditors’ committees, hedge funds, sponsors, and other financial institutions in connection with high-stakes workouts, restructurings, and in-court bankruptcy proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in Chapter 11 proceedings and complex out-of-court restructurings.
- Advise on exchange offers, debtor-in-possession and exit financings
- Handle pre-packaged and pre-arranged reorganizations.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and execution.
Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in commercial bankruptcy and financial restructuring.
- J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to practice in New York State.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
Compensation:
Base salary: $260K or $310K plus bonus and benefits
Possibility of a discretionary bonus –depending on candidate circumstances and position
