Holy Cross Health
Holy Cross Health Region serves the two most populous counties in Maryland, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, and Washington, DC. Holy Cross Hospital, in Silver Spring, is one of the largest hospitals in Maryland, and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital is the first hospital in the nation on a community college campus, enhanced by an educational partnership. The Holy Cross Health Network operates primary care practices and affordable health centers and offers a wide range of innovative, community-based health and wellness programs, as well as a comprehensive cancer center that is home ot the Varian Edge, a life-saving technology designed to better detect and target certain cancers. Holy Cross is the only health system in the county offering this targeted technology. POSITION SUMMARY
The President, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and Holy Cross Health Maryland Medical Group will have oversight for all matters related to overall medical group performance, inclusive of operational, clinical, and financial metrics, and will enhance a culture that promotes the highest quality of care across all sites in PA, DE, and MD. The Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and Holy Cross Health Maryland Medical Group includes over 350 total employed providers, with 200+ physicians (160 in Mid-Atlantic and 41 in Maryland) and over 150 APPs (90 in Mid-Atlantic and 62 in Maryland). Total net revenues for the group exceed $100M.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Medical Group President will report to the Regional Health Ministry (RHM) President and CEO, with a matrix reporting relationship to the Trinity Health SVP, Medical Groups and Ambulatory Strategy.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- As a Trinity Health Executive, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate leadership traits which support our Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of healthcare management principles and techniques.
- Must have a minimum of 7 or more (7+) years of leadership experience, including progressive leadership responsibilities in the healthcare industry, inclusive of strong experience in multispecialty medical groups. Experience within integrated healthcare delivery systems is ideal and preferred.
- Must possess deep experience in medical group operations and the relevant business affairs related to successful physician practice management.
- Experience establishing, pursuing and monitoring appropriate process and outcome measures for key population health initiatives; evaluating the processes by which clinical care and patient services are delivered; identifying areas of opportunity, setting standards for outcomes, developing appropriate systems to monitor and outcomes and achieve desired results.
- Knowledge of the content, intent, and application of regulations, policies, standards, operations, and requirements applicable to the Health Ministry and the state environment.
- Successful track record of providing effective administrative and physician leadership, developing physician engagement and driving clinical quality outcomes.
- Proven track record of rolling out digital telehealth and helping to ensure it is a core competency of the medical group to help expand access.
- Familiarity with information systems and regulatory compliance issues.
- Experience in designing physician/provider compensation programs and demonstrated knowledge of appropriate physician/provider incentive compensation programs.
EDUCATION
Master’s in Health Administration, Master’s in Business Administration, or an advanced degree in a related field is preferred. Physician executives (MD, DO) with the requisite operational and business experience are encouraged to apply.
