COMPANY OVERVIEW
From its beginnings in 1911 as a trust established by Bertha Lindau Cone, Cone Health has grown into one of North Carolina’s most extensive and trusted healthcare networks – serving people in Alamance, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham and surrounding counties. As Cone expands to meet the community’s evolving healthcare needs, they continue to honor the values of their founders who believed in accessible healthcare for all, regardless of their ability to pay.
Since caring for its first patient in 1953, Cone Health experts — 13,000 employees, 1,650 physicians and 1,000 volunteers — have been committed to providing exceptional care for their community. Recognized for their world-class expertise and compassionate care, this not-for-profit healthcare network now spans more than 150 locations, including five hospitals, six ambulatory care centers, three outpatient surgery centers, ten urgent care centers, one retirement community and more than 120 physician practices. These include primary and specialty care through Cone Health Medical Group and Triad HealthCare Network.
Alamance Regional Medical Center is a 238-bed medical and surgical hospital in Alamance County. Specialized services include heart and vascular, Cone Health Cancer Center, Cone Health Women's & Children's Center (maternity services), as well as advanced imaging and surgical services, among others. This modern facility utilizes state-of-the-art equipment such as the da Vinci® surgical robot system.
Annie Penn Hospital has 110 acute care beds. This facility includes inpatient and short stay surgery centers, Cone Health Cancer Center, heart care and specialty clinics such as a sleep disorders center and an endoscopy center.
Behavioral Health Hospital offers pediatric and adult inpatient crisis stabilization at an 80-bed facility. Outpatient care includes numerous group therapy programs as well as individual counseling and day programs. The hospital also offers the community a 24-hour helpline that provides access to trained mental health professionals. Additional outpatient behavioral health centers are in Greensboro, Kernersville, and Reidsville.

Cone Health Medical Group providers offer primary care medical services, including family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and urgent care. Specialty care – such as cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, pulmonology, rheumatology, oncology, endocrinology, urology, and general surgery – is also available at many locations.
HealthTeam Advantage, a subsidiary of Cone Health, provides Medicare Advantage plans to more than 22,000 Medicare beneficiaries under the HealthTeam Advantage (HTA). HTA offers plans in 33 N.C. counties with the goal of improving the health and well-being of its communities through a commitment to personalized service, quality, and enhanced care experiences.
MedCenters in Asheboro, Greensboro (2), High Point, Kernersville, and Mebane offer convenient, easy-to-access, all-in-one care locations with primary care physicians, medical specialists, urgent or emergency room care, lab work and diagnostic imaging just where you need it most…nearby.
