Regulatory Expertise
- Successful P&L management and budgeting/forecasting.
- Account Management, Service Expansion, Contract Management and Renewal.
- Drive growth of the business through expansion, extension, and – in partnership with our sales team – new opportunities.
- Intimately understand and implement the terms and conditions of all contracts and proposals for the programs the Regional Director oversees.
- Thoroughly understand and adhere to the guidelines and required compliance for multiple Federal and State funding sources.
- Maintain and strengthen key relationships needed for the management and delivery of programs. Communicate regularly and effectively with representatives of the schools and districts we serve and be comfortable with the sales and business development aspects of Catapult’s work.
- The position will require a presence at our client schools on a regular basis. Alert Vice President of Programs to potential problems and offer viable solutions pro-actively.
- Develop with Vice President of Programs a strategic plan for optimal renewal and expansion of contracts for the region each year. Carry out appropriate renewal activity throughout the year. This requires management of field staff as well as supervisors.
- Ability to leverage data, tools and systems to drive business outcomes.
- Oversee performance and effectiveness of program management to ensure that the direct service team functions well and program goals are attained.
- With support of the HR department, oversee recruitment, selection, evaluation, retention, and, if necessary, termination of direct service staff.
- Assure that assembled staff can demonstrate appropriate skills, ability, and training to meet the demands of contracted programs.
- Responsible for staff development and performance management.
- Act as a role model for establishing appropriate positive morale and attitude toward work and organization.
- Maintain appropriate and regular communication with staff.
- Assist local Area Managers, and Professional Development Managers to resolve problems quickly and effectively as they arise.
- Partner collaboratively with assigned finance team analysts.
- Assure that instructional staff, physical facilities, instructional materials, and equipment are of high quality.
- Keep appropriate corporate support staff informed of contract activities. Communicate regularly with, and provide needed information to, Vice President of Programs.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- A minimum of 10+ years of related experience in the areas of education, business, or another relevant industry, must have overseen $10 Million in annual revenue or greater.
- Demonstrated ability to get contracts renewed and manage spend down of existing contracts.
- Proven track record (in partnership with sales or on their own) of building the business through new contracts or contract extension.
- Strong understanding of the K-12 education world
- Significant staff management experience required, including both experienced and less experienced managers.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Track-record communicating effectively with all levels of management, as well as outside partners and other stakeholders.
- A team-oriented mindset and willingness to work across cross-functional teams.
- A sense of urgency and responsiveness to partner and organizational needs.
- Experience working with school districts preferred
EDUCATION
- An undergraduate degree in a related field required.
- A master’s degree in related educational fields or a business degree with prior experience working in K-12 environment preferred.
PHYSICAL ENVIROMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Physical Environment and Working Conditions: Light lifting, walking, climbing stairs. Most programs are in school settings.
- Travel: Must be drivable to New Jersey or willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided).
