The Company
Housman Institute is an early-stage company that believes creating a more equitable, peaceful, and joyful world is achieved through providing young children, and those who educate and raise them, with the tools necessary to enhance and elevate their awareness, expression and regulation of their emotions and empathically understand those around them. We do this by providing solutions in promoting educators’ emotional wellbeing and children’s mental health and learning. Through creating professional development and curricular tools, created from over 35 years of research and practice, we support children’s healthy brain development by promoting their emotional, cognitive and social early learning from birth. Through these programs and tools, children and their caregivers learn how to regulate their emotions, productively cope with anxiety and stress, negotiate solutions with, between and among others, and productively express themselves in society. We are in search of a Head of Partnership and Customer Development that shares this vision.

All Children Need Mental Health Support Today
1-on-1 solutions are important, but they aren't enough. Intervention Programs aren't enough. Modern children are facing trauma-inducing situations on a daily basis, and it is far easier to prevent than it is to repair.
At Housman Institute, we work to educate educators, parents, and the young children they nurture, teach, and support, in order to promote the growth of emotional intelligence through the development of its underlying competencies and associated skills.
We strive to help all children from birth, irrespective of background, as well as the adults who love and care for them.
Our mission is to provide children from birth with the building blocks of emotional intelligence through the promotion, development, and understanding of emotional competencies, self-regulation, empathy, pro-social behaviors, and other critical emotional, cognitive, and social early learning skills—laying the foundation for lifelong learning, mental health, well-being, and success for all children.
Our vision is to have a world where we can empower the next generation in their emotional, social, and academic lifelong success.
Dr. Donna Housman, founder of Housman Institute, has over thirty-five years of experience as a psychologist in the field of child development and early childhood education, and previously founded and ran a successful early childhood school where she developed the ECSEL approach.
"Emotion is our first language. From a baby’s first cry, we have an unparalleled opportunity to inform and shape the patterning of the brain’s architecture for lifelong learning, mental health, well-being, and success."
- Dr. Donna Housman
