Cheyenne Regional Medical Center invites applications and nominations for the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) serves as the executive leader responsible for physician relations and medical quality improvement in cooperation with the Chief of Staff and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CMO serves as a key leader on the Executive and Medical Staff teams and as the physician liaison between the Medical Staff and Cheyenne Regional administration. The CMO represents Medical Staff issues and perspectives to the Board of Trustees and the community by developing and maintaining a trust-based relationship among the organized Medical Staff leadership and its members, the Executive Team, and the Board of Trustees. The CMO is also responsible for developing and maintaining a cooperative working environment among hospital and clinic personnel and physicians and facilitates issue resolution and education to further those goals – whether it be program development, medical staff affairs, quality improvement, and beyond.

The ideal candidate is a skilled physician leader with experience collaborating with both clinical and administrative leaders in a complex, matrixed environment. This individual should have a strong customer/patient focus and an ability to work in ambiguous settings independently to drive recommendations. The CMO must develop relationships across the organizations, communicate clearly, and effectively manage multiple stakeholder groups with varying interests and priorities. The CMO should have knowledge of modern national trends and be comfortable analyzing data to inform and drive clinical improvements across the organization.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the 208-bed flagship hospital of Cheyenne Regional Health System in Wyoming. CRMC is a Level 3-N trauma center (with neuro capability) that’s home to the Wyoming Heart and Vascular Institute and the Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center. CRMC also holds special accreditations as a Chest Pain Center with PCI and a Primary Stroke Center. CRMC is proud to be the only hospital in Wyoming to hold ANCC Magnet designation, and offers patients a robust variety of services includes cardiovascular, cancer, orthopedics, neurosciences, women and children’s services, trauma, and more. The system is comprised of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, the Davis Hospice Center, Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, Wyoming Institution of Population Health, and Cheyenne Regional Medical Group – the state’s largest medical group.

An MD/DO with board certification is required. The Chief Medical Officer must be eligible for or hold a current state license to practice medicine and be eligible for medical staff privileges.
