Purpose of the Position: The COO is a leadership role to provide the operation architecture and strategic direction to transform The Company to become a world class international company. The COO will lead their team to service their blue chips multinational customers with expanding capacity and growth.

Dimensions:
▪ Direct Reports: 7-8
▪ Total Number of Team Members: 1,500 staff + 6,000 direct workers
▪ Sales Turnover: US$500m
▪ Ops & Capital Expenditure: US$300m
▪ Span of control: 60% - 70% of sales

Key Responsibilities:
• Report to CEO in setting strategic direction, organizational vision, business plans and operation strategies with clear plans and successful execution. Manage key stakeholders including board, government, executive teams, suppliers and customers;
• Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, take appropriate action when necessary;
 • Cultivate and develop organization according to business needs. Nurture The Company entrepreneurship and ethical business culture, promote “can do” attitude and operation excellence DNA. Build succession plans at multi-levels and critical positions, mentor, and coach team members to lead the current and future global operation organization.

Location: Flexible; ideally Southeast USA, but could also be Portugal or other locations
Reporting Relationship: Chief Executive Officer (based in Hong Kong)

Confidential Position Specification:
• Drive continuous improvement and deliver saving targets by deploying successful and innovative solutions in operation process technologies (automation, manufacturing solution and operation systems), supply chain management among all sites. Oversee performance management including establishing, implementing, and communicating KPIs to measure performance to meet company P&L targets;
• Create and improve capacity including setting up operation in new regions to meet new business needs at target time/cost/quality;
• Manage and monitor all operational budgets capex investment, capacity utilization and optimization to ensure relevant resources are deployed to meet company’s objectives within the agreed financial parameters;
• Drive and deploy new solutions for sustainability internally and within supply chain; • Develop and maintain agility, flexibility, and cost efficiencies in supply chain management in response to the rapid change of operation environment.
 
Direct Sub-ordinates /functions:
▪ All Sites GM in various region.
▪ Mold Making operation, Manufacturing Engineering.
▪ BPR VP – Business Process Re-engineering.
▪ Supply Chain VP (oversee sourcing and PMC and logistics functions).
▪ QA.

• Experience working within multicultural environments and locations such as Asia, US, South America and Europe;
• International Proficiency: A well-rounded international background, spanning key regions such as United States, Latin America, Asia and others;
• Mobility: strong commitment to mobility and a willingness to travel overseas, including stationing and frequent visits to manufacturing sites (based in China, India, Portugal and Dominican Republic) and client sites (mainly in Europe and USA) and corporate HQ (Hong Kong).
