Lead with Impact – Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand
An exciting opportunity to lead a market-dominant business and shape the future of a high-performing team. As a specialist in licensed consumer products for events and occasions, and a major supplier of Big W and Spotlight, this international organisation is looking to drive growth locally and expand across Asia.
We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on leader to take the helm of a respected brand known for its well-known licensed products, exceptional customer service, and strong retail partnerships across Australia and New Zealand. With a team of 80 and a network of over 1,000 retailers, this role offers the chance to influence commercial direction, operational excellence, and regional expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set and execute the strategic direction for the business in alignment with global leadership.
• Lead day-to-day operations and drive profitable growth and consistent cash flow.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with statutory obligations.
• Identify and implement growth opportunities via partnerships.
• Develop and drive alternative go-to-market strategies, including omni-channel
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, licensors, suppliers, and partners.
• Lead and mentor the leadership team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure IT systems and infrastructure support scalable business growth.
• Champion continuous improvement in efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Proven success in executive leadership roles with full P&L responsibility.
• Experience in consumer products, retail, or celebrations industries.
• Proven experience in working with major retailers, particularly Big W and Spotlight, to strengthen commercial partnerships and drive retail growth.
• Strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to customer growth.
• Skilled in sales, marketing, product development, manufacturing in China, and finance.
• Strategic thinker with M&A and international business experience.
• Deep understanding of the Australian and New Zealand retail landscape.
• Strong operational, financial, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
