The Opportunity: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. The role reports to the CEO and has independent access to the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee on compliance and risk management related issues. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, it is critical that the incumbent can work as a trusted adviser to the Board, Executive Team and other organisational teams. This role is critical in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive risk and compliance management framework that ensures we operate within our risk appetite and adhere to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Lead a team of risk and compliance specialists, embedding the desired risk framework into our processes, particularly investment processes and decision-making.

• Investment Risk Management: Oversee the credit and broader investment risk management framework, including evaluation of policies, risk assessment methodologies, and approval processes.

• Reputational Risk Management: Establish and implement a reputational risk management strategy, monitor public perception, and develop crisis management protocols.

• Enterprise Risk Management: Develop and implement an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.

• Compliance Management: Coordinate and implement our compliance function, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience leading mature Risk and Compliance functions in Financial Services, with a focus on enterprise risk, credit risk, and reputational risk.

• Extensive experience integrating risk and compliance considerations into strategic decision-making at the Management and Board level.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high levels of commercial acumen.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

• Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing risk teams and fostering a culture of risk awareness.

• Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Commerce, or a similar discipline.
